¹³     his archers surround me.^(A)
Without pity, he pierces^(B) my kidneys
    and spills my gall on the ground.

¹⁹ He has no offspring^(A) or descendants^(B) among his people,
    no survivor^(C) where once he lived.^(D)

²⁹ you should fear the sword yourselves;
    for wrath will bring punishment by the sword,^(A)
    and then you will know that there is judgment.^[a]”^(B)

²⁴ Though he flees^(A) from an iron weapon,
    a bronze-tipped arrow pierces him.^(B)

¹⁴ However many his children,^(A) their fate is the sword;^(B)
    his offspring will never have enough to eat.^(C)

¹⁸ to preserve them from the pit,^(A)
    their lives from perishing by the sword.^[a](B)

¹² But if they do not listen,
    they will perish by the sword^[a](A)
    and die without knowledge.^(B)

²³     till an arrow pierces^(A) his liver,
like a bird darting into a snare,
    little knowing it will cost him his life.^(B)

²⁰ but if you resist and rebel,^(A)
    you will be devoured by the sword.”^(B)
