¹⁷ “Yet how often is the lamp of the wicked snuffed out?^(A)
    How often does calamity^(B) come upon them,
    the fate God allots in his anger?^(C)

²⁰ Let their own eyes see their destruction;^(A)
    let them drink^(B) the cup of the wrath of the Almighty.^(C)

³⁰ that the wicked are spared from the day of calamity,^(A)
    that they are delivered from^[a] the day of wrath?^(B)

¹¹ Unleash the fury of your wrath,^(A)
    look at all who are proud and bring them low,^(B)

⁸ In the hand of the Lord is a cup
    full of foaming wine mixed^(A) with spices;
he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
    drink it down to its very dregs.^(B)

⁴ The Lord works out everything to its proper end^(A)—
    even the wicked for a day of disaster.^(B)
